As you may know Hurricanes Hanna and Ike recently passed through The Bahamas region with the latter going on to cause a great deal of damage in Haiti and the USA. Both storms passed through some distance from Long Island, which experienced only some heavy winds and rain according to our conversations with people on the Island.

We now have a first hand report as Jon has been on Long Island this week to conduct a site tour with a hotel group who are intending to put a proposal to us for the hotel at Port St. George. I am happy to report that he has confirmed that he found no damage done to either Stella Maris or the surrounding area. In fact he says that he's never seen the Island looking better.
