A meeting was held in Leicester on the 28th of January to update everyone in attendance regarding the vast amount that has happened since our last Update Meeting back in March 2007, which was before the new Government was elected in The Bahamas. If you recall, at that time we were optimistic of an early approval of our application to develop Port St. George and indeed that optimism was well founded. On 20th of June 2007 we received Approval in Principle for all aspects of the Port St. George development - except the casino - subject to certain conditions being satisfied:
Curly, Jon and I (Lynda) returned from The Bahamas late last week having made significant progress with various areas of the project. You will recall that there are four conditions attaching to the Approval in Principle which we have obtained for the development. These are:

You may recall from our last update that a Town Meeting had been arranged on Long Island for us to present the Port St. George project to the officials and residents of the island. Our representatives travelled to The Bahamas on the 17th of last month fully prepared for the Town Meeting to take place on Monday 22nd October. Unfortunately, one of the Government Ministers who was due to attend the Town Meeting had double booked his diary and so we have had to re-schedule the meeting for the last week of November. The postponement was obviously frustrating for us as we would have liked to have held the meeting and thereby satisfied one of the conditions of our planning approval in principle. Fortunately, there is no delay to the project overall as the Town Meeting will still be dealt with during the period that work is taking place to comply with the other conditions of the approval in principle.
It is now a little over three months since we received approval in principle for Port St. George from the Bahamas Government. Whilst there has not been a lot of news from us during that period there has been a great deal of work going on in the background towards complying with the conditions of the approval.
Approximately two weeks ago the Bahamas Government gave it’s backing to the proposed Port St. George project by granting approval in principle for most aspects of the development. The only part of the project for which the Government has withheld approval in principle is the casino component.
Well it was a great 4 days that we spent at the British Par 3 Championship and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to come to Warwickshire and support us.
The lawyers dealing with the application for the development of Port St George received notification from the Office of The Prime Minister of The Bahamas that the National Economic Council had considered the proposal and had approved in principle the proposed development.
